I'd always been a little dubious of using an apron for the sort of jobs around the garage/house that I do. I always thought they were more suited to the 'craft' side of things. That's until I had one. Turns out they are really useful for when you just pop out to do a quick job. I leave mine near the garage door and it reminds me to stick it on when I'm in there regardless.
The great thing about all the Carhartt aprons is that they have acriss-cross fitting that ties at the back. This means two things - firstly it's useful that the same apron fits well regardless of your size (I'm 6ft 3 and Lou is 5ft 5 and we can both wear it). Secondly, it allows for a balanced weight distribution - so it's comfy to wear (especially if you're wearing for longer periods of time).
This apron uses Carhartt standard 12oz, firm hand, 100% ring spun cotton duck canvas. This means that when new the fabric feels stiff, but with time and wear develops its own shape and will nicely fit to you.
