Carhartt Women's Crawford Bib Overalls
Carhartt Women's Crawford Bib Overalls
Women's rugged overalls that are built to move.
These women's bibs have the classic look of Carhartt's duck overalls, but with a soft stretch-canvas construction that gives you full freedom to move. The zip pocket on the chest is large enough to fit a phone, and the several slip-in pockets have various sizes to accommodate your different tools. A double layer at the knees increases the durability factor plus gives you a place to stick your knee pads.
- 8-ounce, 98% cotton / 2% spandex canvas
- Built to move with Rugged Flex® stretch technology
- Adjustable suspenders for a personalized fit
- Multi-compartment bib pocket with zip closure
- Double-layer knees (the current product photos are not correct as this feature has been updated. If now runs from seam to seam and the four metal rivets have been removed - we'll update the photos as soon as possible.)
- Two large lower-front pockets
- Multiple utility pockets
Right - so sizing caused a heated conversation in the Tinker and Fix office. American sizing usually comes up on the large side. When deciding to stock the women's bib overalls we wanted to make sure we could give customers the best sizing information possible. Below you'll see Carhartt's official sizing guide. Below that you'll see our interpretation of it based on experience.
Here's what we found;
Louise is usually a UK size 10 (sometimes 12, never an 8.) Her size choice is Medium becuase she likes to wear them loose in the summer and with thermals in the colder months. She can fit into Small but this wouldn't work as well (comfort wise) to putting layers underneath. So if your preference is to layer up or to wear them loose then we'd say the Small was a UK 8/10, Medium a UK 10/12, Large a UK 12/14 and XL a 14/16
This further fuelled the conversation around the naming of sizes ..... and the conclusion was you should ignore what Carhartt stick in the label and go with what fits.
Here's some comments from customers who have tried on different sizes;
"I am 5ft 8inches tall, slim and take a size 12 (my jeans size is 29).
The reason I want the dungarees is for gardening so therefore I didn’t want anything too tight.
The medium size was a perfect fit for my size, if I had wanted them for normal/fashion wear I would have gone with this size.
The large are more roomy and will allow me to wear a pair of leggings under them in the winter. For the gardening work I do the large will give me unrestricted movement."
We stock two womens bib overalls from Carhartt so here is a comparison of the two fit wise;
- the Denim Blue's have a relaxed leg fit as opposed to the loose fit of the Crawford. Neither are tight fitting but the Crawfords are noticably roomier in the leg.
- the Denim Blue's are at least an inch longer in the leg length. We put them at around 31 as opposed to 30 inch on the Crawfords.
- the Crawfords have less stretch within the fabric. Both offer great range of motion but if you're very active then the Denim Blues might be better for you.

My partner loves these overalls- fit well and locker colour
I'm a professional gardener and these are the best bib overalls I have ever bought. Great quality and very comfortable
I have always found it difficult to find bib overalls for women but these are brilliant. Not too hot to wear in the summer , a lovely loose fit in the legs that allow you to bend , kneel and move easily. Adjustable straps for a perfect fit. Loads of good sized pockets. I'm 5'6 and usually a size 10, I ordered a small and they are perfect, long in the leg so I just turn them up. Time to order a second pair in another colour I think!
I’ve had my eye on these bib and brace overalls for a while, as they looked perfect for rearing calves and farming in the summer months. Wehn overall as are still needed but waterproofs are too hot. Wonderfully made and comfortable to work in, I had to change down a size as although it recommended 10/12 as a L they where rather baggy. The medium are perfect, and leave room for moving freely. Tinker and fix where wonderful with the exchange, a fab company.
I'm a professional gardener and I love these. Very durable and comfortable to move around in, plus the pockets are well placed and numerous. First time I've been complimented on my workwear too so nice change to be stylish at work!
I'm a size 10 and 5'7''. The medium size are a good fit and I can comfortably wear my thermal fleecy leggings underneath.
