Niwaki Herbaceous Sickle

Regular price £14.00 Sale

In Japan they apparently use a sickle for hand-harvesting rice, but some bright spark at Niwaki realised that the same thing works just as well on herbaceous stuff and grasses over here.

The serrated blade copes with tough, dry stalks: grab a handful, cut with a single, strong sawing action.  So if you've got borders or pots of grasses or herbaceous plants, then the Niwaki Herbaceous Sickle could save you time and be a satisfying change from using your other garden tools.

We've also found that they are good for clearing away Daffodil leaves after they've died back (as we can cut them after they have been tied for a while).

Product spec for the Niwaki Herbaceous Sickle:

  • 35cm long with a 17cm blade.
  • Lightweight handle made from Poplar wood.

Brilliant tool

Cannot wait to use this tool in anguish in the spring! Bought as stocking filler for my husband but think it will go in my gardening tool box!! Lovely handle with really sharp blade and good safety quality cover for when not in use. Another fantastic Niwaki tool to add to my collection.
