Tinker and Fix Gardeners Gift Box
Tinker and Fix Gardeners Gift Box
We’re bored of rubbish gifts you get around Christmas time, that are aimed at specific types of people, that come in vast amounts of plastic wrapping, containing tools that won’t last beyond a couple of Christmases. So we’ve made our own gift boxes – the only similarity is that they are also aimed at specific people. There's this one for gardeners, and another one for for those who like a bit of DIY, making and restoring.
Yes, they contain a mug. Which some of these other gift boxes can also contain. And this has been slightly controversial in the Tinker and Fix house, because Edd wasn’t keen on ever doing branded items. But it’s only taken me what, four years, to gently nudge him into agreement. He cannot argue about them because he uses an old enamel mug all the time in the garage. He likes it so much he put a Tinker and Fix sticker on it. So it’s the same. But actually made by us, rather than made-up by Edd.
I love a mug, and also use the stickered up version around the garden, much to his chagrin as I often leave it in the greenhouse or randomly perched somewhere (compost bin, garden bench etc). So we’ve given it a bright mustard colour rim – so it can be spotted amongst the foliage.
So, what’s in the Tinker and Fix Garden Gift box?
- A copper pricking out trowel by Heirloom Trowels: it’s a beautiful looking trowel, that’s great to use during peak growing season.
- A packet of seeds: something to use the trowel on – and everyone needs some Cosmos in their gardens, for cutting or just enjoying in-situ. We've popped in a packet from a small independent seed company that we've used to great success in the past.
- A Tinker and Fix Mug – these can’t be bought separately (Edd won’t allow it, sorry!)
- A Tinker and Fix Keyring – made by Edd, we use ours for the garage and workshop doors, to keep all our tools locked up safe.
