Sneeboer Great Dixter Planting Fork
Sneeboer Great Dixter Planting Fork
Is this a long handled hand fork - or a short handle digging fork?
Regardless of how you want to refer to it what we've found is that the Sneeboer Great Dixter Planting Fork is massively useful - especially when working on your knees or in raised beds. The longer handle length (42cm) makes it perfect for digging out plants or harvesting root vegetables. Whilst its overall size (62cm) keeps it easy to wield in tight spaces in the border.
The Great Dixter Planting Fork has four tangs and is 12 cm wide and 14cm long. Made from stainless steel.
Hand forged by Sneeboer in the Netherlands, who have been making and developing garden tools since 1913. Now in the hands of 4th generation family members, Sneeboer use stainless steel to craft the ultimate tools for gardeners. Their tools are the anthesis of the cheap trow away culture. Built to last a lifetime and to be maintain in order to continue to perform like new.
As this item is hand forged please expect to see some hammer marks and black coke marks on the surface. These add to the unique character of each tool and do not affect the durability or quality of the tool in anyway.
The handle is made from ash and replacements are available if ever needed.
Great by itself, but brilliant when used with the Great Dixter Planting Spade.
Why invest in Sneeboer garden tools?
Quite simply, they are high quality hand forged gardening tools that'll last a lifetime. Read our blog to find out more...

I bought one of these forks at Burghley in September and to be honest, have hardly used my ordinary hand fork on the allotment since. It is perfect for raised beds. Beautiful quality and although quite pricey, excellent value.
This is amazing compact Folk, so versatile can be used in raised beds or garden borders ( along with Niwaki Kneeler ) when working on your knees.
I've found Dixter Planting Folk easier to use for some parts of long handle folk gardening, due the solid build its shorter handle much easier to get in to dig up plants/shrubs.
