I have a confession to make - I used to always just buy the cheapest paint brushes I could find. I think my general dislike of decorating houses has a lot to do with it.....
I like restoring things and giving them a lick of paint but repainting walls and ceilings in the house doesn't do anything for me. Especially edges and skirting boards.
I knew that professional decorators say that the right types/brand of paint brush makes a huge difference. They aren't wrong.
We tested various brands and have settled on Purdy being my personal favourite. They just seemed to strike the right balance of quality, price and function for me.
These XL Elite brushes are designed for use with emulsion paints and are classed as all rounders.
We stock two different sizes - 1.5 inches for precision work and edging and the wider 3 inch for when you need to cover a surface quicker (for really big areas I'd recommend switching to a roller.)
If working with a modern emulsion then these brushes can be cleaned in water and then allowed to dry. Then just pop the protective covers back on to keep the bristles clean in storage.
