I just prefer a traditional wooden handle on a screwdriver.
I've tried a lot of the modern plastic grips, and none of them have felt as good to me as those found on a cabinet screwdriver.
Luckily they are still being made by Joseph Marples in Sheffield.
We stock three sizes of Pozi screwdriver - from the small No 1 up to the larger No 3. The No 2 is probably the most common used.
Most modern wood screws are Pozi (they have the small marks between the main cross) rather than Philips, which tends to be either older, or used on machinery rather than wood. (we do also stock Philips heads here.)
The handles are made from Beech and we've asked Marples to supply these to us with an oiled finish rather than their standard varnish. Again that's just personal preference.
No 1 is 220mm long.
No 2 and 3 are 250mm long.
