I just prefer a traditional wooden handle on a screwdriver.
I've tried a lot of the modern plastic grips, and none of them have felt as good to me as those found on a cabinet screwdriver.
Luckily they are still being made by Joseph Marples in Sheffield.
We stock two sizes of Philips screwdriver - the smaller No 1 and the larger No 2. The No 1 is often used for those small cross head screws on battery covers of electronic goods.
Philips is the traditional cross head screw head, without the marks between the main cross. (we do also stock Pozi heads here.)
The handles are made from Beech and we've asked Marples to supply these to us with an oiled finish rather than their standard varnish. Again that's just personal preference.
No 1 is 220mm long.
No 2 is n250mm long.
