Carhartt Duck Apron (Carhartt Brown)
Carhartt Duck Apron (Carhartt Brown)
** Unfortunately these are now out of stock until early December 2024.**
I'd always been a little dubious of using an apron for the sort of jobs around the garage/house that I do. I always thought they were more suited to the 'craft' side of things. That's until I had one. Turns out they are really useful for when you just pop out to do a quick job. I leave mine near the garage door and it reminds me to stick it on when I'm in there regardless.
The great thing about all the Carhartt aprons is that they have a criss-cross fitting that ties at the back. This means two things - firstly it's useful that the same apron fits well regardless of your size (I'm 6ft 3 and Lou is 5ft 5 and we can both wear it). Secondly, it allows for a balanced weight distribution - so it's comfy to wear (especially if you're wearing for longer periods of time).
This apron uses Carhartt standard 12oz, firm hand, 100% ring spun cotton duck canvas. This means that when new the fabric feels stiff, but with time and wear develops its own shape and will nicely fit to you.
Because it's cotton canvas, it can easily be made waterproof by applying Otter Wax Fabric Wax
Product spec:
- Material: Apron is 12oz, firm hand, 100% ring spun cotton duck canvas. Straps are 100% polyester.
- Pocket situation: there's a useful bib pocket with zip closure, four large pockets, two small on the waist, as well as tool and utility pockets on the side.

I love my new gardening apron. Not only does it make me feel more professional in clients gardens, i have all my essential tools & phone (for tunes/gardening podcasts) in the pockets.
Previously I’d been using a belt to secure holster for Hori hori & secateurs but they aren’t as convenient.
Would defo recommend.
