Watson Flextime Winter Workshop Glove
Watson Flextime Winter Workshop Glove
The Watson Flextime Workshop glove is my favourite glove for use around the workshop and garden. It's also our best selling glove thanks to the great review it received in the Independent newspaper - you can read that here.
When placing another order with Watson gloves recently they mentioned that they did a winter version of the same glove. That makes a lot of sense so we've added it to our offering.
This version of the Flextime glove has a C40 spec lining from 3M Thinsulate. This material offers great thermal protection from a thin layer of material. In use these gloves are obviously thicker than the standard Flextime, but not massively and still allows a level of "feel" in use.
By Canadian standards these are rated as a "moderate warmth" glove which is down to - 5 celsius. I think that will cover most conditions in the UK winter when I'd still be working outdoors! We'll continue to monitor how they work as we move into the colder winter months.
These gloves have a leather palm, with a flexible synthetic back.
Sizing
- Is the same as the standard Watson Flextime so there's no need to size up. If you were a Large in the Flextime you'll still be a Large in the Flextime Winter.
- Sizing chart is available here - and sorry these are only available in Mens sizing.
- Unfortunately we are currently out of stock of size Medium and won't be getting anymore of this size into stock until Autumn 2022.
Durability + wear: At this price point a leather glove is durable, but not indestructible. Leather does soften when wet and is more susceptible to wear and tear when it is. I avoid using a leather glove when it's really wet in the garden. If they do get wet avoid force drying them on a radiator as they will go extremely dry and rigid. Regular treatment with a leather oil or wax will improve their water resistance and longevity.
