Tinker and Fix x Cruz Custom Tools hex driver
Tinker and Fix x Cruz Custom Tools hex driver
When does something become a tradition?
Last year we got in contact with Cruz Custom Tools, who are based in Utah, to see if he would be interested in doing a custom run of hex drivers just for us. Happily he said yes and a couple of months later we were able to offer that first driver for sale.
So this year we’ve done it again - and we’ve gone a bit more colourful with the cap design.
As with last year these drivers site right on the edge of where a functional tool meets art/sculpture. Each one is hand made, with hours and hours of work going into the machining and polishing.
The bodies are solid brass. They have a great weight to them and the hand carving is crisp and very tactile. To add a pop of colour the bearing caps are Mexican Blanket GCarta. GCarta is made from fabric and resin. The colours are amazing and reminds me a lot of the Skatewood colours we use in other projects.
The bearing just spins and spins.
I use a hex driver like this for jobs that require low torque or just a small adjustment. For me its mainly on leather work, but its also been used to adjustment the carb on the Reliant Scimitar.
Could other “lesser” tools do the same job? Of course, but few make me smile as much every time I pick it up.
Limited quantity available and once they are gone, they are gone.
Supplied with a selection of the smaller Torx hex bits.
