Sneeboer Great Dixter Trowel
Sneeboer Great Dixter Trowel
The selection of different types of trowels offered by Sneeboer is vast. We've tended to stick to the Transplanting Trowel and Old Dutch Trowels but for Summer 2023 we are exploring some of the other shapes.
This was the favourite trowel of the garden designer Christopher Lloyd and hence carries the Great Dixter name. It's similar to the Weeding Trowel that we've stocked for awhile, but is more rounded in its profile and end shape. This means it can more easily be used for digging planting holes as well as digging out deep routed weeds. The end of the trowel has been sharpened.
The blade is 16cm long and 5 cm wide. Overall length of 33 cm and this is the Cherry handle version.
Hand forged by Sneeboer in the Netherlands, who have been making and developing garden tools since 1913. Now in the hands of 4th generation family members, Sneeboer use stainless steel to craft the ultimate tools for gardeners. Their tools are the anthesis of the cheap throw away culture. Built to last a lifetime and to be maintain in order to continue to perform like new.
As this item is hand forged please expect to see some hammer marks and black coke marks on the surface. These add to the unique character of each tool and do not affect the durability or quality of the tool in anyway.
