Niwaki Sentei Garden Scissors

The aesthetic of a tool is greatly influenced by how it's made.  These Niwaki Sentei Garden Scissors have a distinctive symmetrical curved handles and a short cutting blade.  That's partly down to the fact that they are hand forged in Japan.  Each side of the scissor is forged from a single piece of steel which means the handles are formed by drawing down a taper and then looping them over to form the handle.

The resulting handle shape is very comfortable to use and suits a wide range of hand sizes.

The short blade is perfect for accurate cuts within tight spaces, making them ideal for cut flowers, dead-heading, Ikebana and light pruning.

These scissors are made from high carbon steel, which holds a sharp edge but can suffer from light surface rust if left in a damp environment.  They should be kept lightly oiled and they clean up well and easily.
