Niwaki Mainichi Snips

We've a bit of a confession to make with these snips.  We got a pair in to test last summer and for some reason we didn't get on with them.  They didn't get used much and they've mainly been used to demo how to use Crean Mate!

But this summer has been different and they've become a firm favourite, especially for Louise.  She's started to use them for harvesting beans off the veg patch and for cut flowers.

Snips sit between a secateur and a garden scissor, and these are a chunkier design compared to the Niwaki Garden Snips that we still use regularly.

Made in Japan.  The blades are made from SK-85 high carbon steel, but they are a two piece design with the handles being riveted to the blades.  This style allows more shape in the handle without a significant weight increase.  They weigh 175 grams.

Fitted with a yellow vinyl grip on the handles to make them easier to spot and not as cold to hold in the winter.
