We've always been fans of the Japanese garden trowel - or Hori Hori. Throughout lockdown this interest increased and they have become one of our best selling items. This has led us to research different suppliers in Japan and source different options.
We now bring two stainless steel Hori Hori's directly in from a factory in Japan. They are great tools but as standard are supplied with a really basic "leatherette" sheath. As soon as they arrived I thought that some people would like a more substantial sheath and this is the result of that project.
These sheaths are made by us using 3mm Veg tan leather. The leather is then dyed and assembled using a combination of stitching and copper rivets. As we make these sheaths in our workshop we can handle specific leather colour requests and thread colours etc. Just get in touch to talk through your ideas.
These sheaths are design to hang from a belt.
The sheaths listed as being in stock our supplied with either a serrated or standard stainless steel Hori Hori. The drop down menu will confirm the type of Hori Hori provided.
When new the leather sheaths will be on the tight side. They will loosen with time to give a more relaxed fit.
The blade is 17cm long and 4.5 cm wide.
