Gransfors Bruk Small Forest Axe

The Small Forest Axe is the largest of Gransfors felling axes that I think you'll need.  That's because most of us in the UK aren't felling trees .... no matter how much we like the idea of it (we just don't have the "wilderness" space for it.)  Louise bought me one of these axes many years ago and although it's one of my favourites, it doesn't see as much use as my others. (we do stock the larger Scandinavian Forest Axe if you are looking for a longer handle.)

The head is a classic Scandinavian style and weights 2lbs  The 22 inch hickory handle allows a full two handed swing with this axe.  It's perfect for felling larger trees in the garden, but can also be used for smaller jobs with a little care. 

They are supplied with a leather sheath.

Gransfors Bruk have been making axes in Sweden for over 100 years.  All their axes are still made in their factory in the town of Gransfors.  Each head is marked with the initials of the blacksmith who forged them and they are designed to last a lifetime.  For us they are the best quality mass produced axes available on the market.
