I really rate the Fedeca knife making kits that we sell.  When I was placing another order for those kits I noticed that they also offer a small saw, which looked really interesting.

The Fedeca Bushcraft Saw is a high quality "bow" saw designed with a pistol grip handle.  The handle has a Walnut insert, making it extremely comfortable to use.  The main body of the saw is die-cast aluminium, making it strong but still light.

The blade itself has been treated to reduce rusting and its depth combined with the tension from the bow design allows you to cut straight.

As this is a Japanese saw it cuts on the pull stroke, which just requires you to switch your saw technique.

The blade length is 264mm and the saws overall length is 340mm.  Making it compact enough to carry with you, but useful enough to be able to handle relatively large logs.

It comes with a basic plastic blade cover.

When people ask for good gift ideas for camping or bushcraft fans - we often point them in the direction of this Fedeca Bushcraft Saw. It's unusual, beautiful and eminently practical - making it the perfect present!

Little Saw with the big attitude

I bought this fabulous little saw a couple of months back in readiness for a trip wild camping on the NC500 in Scotland.

However I just tried it out pruning and cutting back some giant holly trees in my garden.

The dense nature of the foliage meant this saw came into its own, small it may be but the blade scythes through branches like a hot knife through butter.

Took a stroke or two to get used to the fact that the Japanese blade cutting on the drawback.

Lovely well made tool worth every penny.
