I used to have one of these jackets .... but sold it to a customer looking for a broken in jacket at a show when we first started Tinker and Fix!
This is the latest version of Carhartts Detroit jacket, and they've been making this style for years. For this version they've softened up the Duck canvas a little from the factory as if you've had one of their previous versions the "breaking in" period wasn't quick.
What you have is a warm and rugged workwear jacket. It's cut shorter at the front than most fashion jackets. This means you don't get a lot of fabric bunching up when you bend forward. The back is slightly longer but still works when wearing a tool belt.
The body is lined with a striped blanket fabric, and the arms with a smooth nylon. This is certainly a jacket for colder weather.
