Sneeboer Planting Trowel - Old Dutch Style with long Ash handle

The first thing you notice about this Sneeboer Old Dutch Style Planting Trowel is its weight.  At a little over 450 grams its noticeably heavier than "normal" trowels.  Its weight is a result of how these trowels are designed to be used.  Think of a chopping axe action - using the side of the trowel blade.  The weight helps the trowel cut into the soil and then a forward and back action creates the planting hole.  This is the longer handled version of this trowel, so the chopping action can be even more exaggerated.

This handle is made from Ash and replacements are available if ever needed. If you are looking for a Sneeboer Old Dutch Style Planting Trowel with a Cherry handle, you can find it here. Or if you prefer a shorter handle version of the Sneeboer Old Dutch Style Planting Trowel you can find it here.

Hand forged by Sneeboer in the Netherlands, who have been making and developing garden tools since 1913.  Now in the hands of 4th generation family members, Sneeboer use stainless steel to craft the ultimate tools for gardeners.  Their tools are the anthesis of the cheap trow away culture.  Built to last a lifetime and to be maintain in order to continue to perform like new.

As this item is hand forged please expect to see some hammer marks and black coke marks on the surface.  These add to the unique character of each tool and do not affect the durability or quality of the tool in anyway.
