See you at Sywell?

Tinker and Fix at Sywell Classic car show in 2019 We’re going ‘out, out’ to Sywell Classic: Pistons and Props! It’s two days of classic motoring on the ground and in the air… not many car shows have the added bonus of all things aviation thrown in too. It’s next weekend at Sywell Park in Northamptonshire (between Kettering and Northampton) and Tinker and Fix will be there.
It was a great event last year and we’re pleased it’s (safely) going ahead this year when so many other events have been cancelled or postponed. Here’s the sales pitch from the event organisers: “Watch amazing live action on the transformed ‘Racing Runway’ and ‘Sprint Strip’ with iconic Formula 1 cars, Hot Rods, Dragsters and Motorcycles all in action throughout the weekend. Up in the skies; expect to see a variety of breath-taking aerial displays & acrobatics from a variety of display teams. Live Music will be played throughout the weekend with a superb line of bands performing in the Scarf & Goggles bar. With a vintage fun fair and shopping village, make a weekend of it as camping packages are available.” Find out more here: http://www.sywellclassic.co.uk/

And we just think it’s got a really nice, relaxed family vibe. Most of it is outdoors (good at this time) and the fact it’s at a classic aerodrome and has all the aviation bits added in, makes it just that little bit different from other car shows. You have to pop your head into, or sit down and eat if you have time and can get a seat, in the Art Deco Aviator Hotel (the former Pilot’s Mess) – it’s like going back in time.

We’ll be in one of the marque’s in the ‘Shopping Village’ – so if you were already planning to attend, if you’re in the area and you need another reason to come along, or if we ‘had you at car show’ – pop and see us for a chat! We’ll be bringing along loads of our Tinker and Fix tools and kit – so if you wanted to see some of the things we sell, to have a good look at them – you’ll be able to! We’ll be bringing along a selection to fill the stand (including Trusco toolboxes, Carhartt and King Dick tools), but do let us know if there was something very specific you wanted to look at – no fear, there’s no pressure to buy it - just let us know and we’ll ensure we have it with us. See you there?
