NEW! Clever & lightweight copper handled gardening tools
Share
One of the great consequences of attending various shows and events across the country is discovering new tools. A conversation at a recent garden event in the Cotswolds led us to these trowels made by Shed 51.
The customer was raving about her favourite trowel which she'd has for a number of years. She then disappeared off to fetch it - that was how excited she was to show me. I'm really glad she did as I think they are a great concept.
Still made in the Cotswolds, they were originally sold as "Uncle Peter's Trowel" at various markets in the area. Apparently they developed quite the cult following in the area. The original maker worked in the aerospace industry and the design really reflects that. They are now made by another retired aviation specialist under the Shed 51 name.
The handle is copper and the digging blade from stainless steel. Their clever design means no rivets or glue are needed in their assembly.
They are extremely light weight and durable. They come a variety of different sizes and are a pleasure to use for different circumstances. And, frankly, they are just things of beauty.
We’ll be bringing them along to future shows and events, so you can see them for yourselves and feel them ‘in-hand’ - or, trust us, they are both a great addition to your gardening tool kit, or a fantastic present for the gardener in your life, at a great price point.
