Gardener's Pencils... featured as a best Christmas Gift for Gardeners in the Guardian
Share
We’re delighted to feature in possibly the funniest write up in a gift guide ever. The Guardian has featured us in “The 19 best Christmas gifts for gardeners, by gardeners”.
Garden Writer, Charlotte Mendelson, has included our Gardener’s Pencils, saying:
“Get those floral trowels and elaborately dowdy smocks away from me. I just want a guinea pig, trained to poo on command, fitted with panniers containing Nutscene twine, Felco secateurs and graphite pencils, thanks.”
We love the idea of training guinea pigs to poo on command (I genuinely didn’t know it was good for the garden, if only we didn’t have a terrier who would think it was a fun game to chase it…). And we’re glad she likes the pencils.
Have a full read of the whole Guardian Christmas gift guide (spoiler; the rest isn’t as funny - Monty Don prefers a leather holster to carry his tools, rather than training one of his dogs). There are some good recommendations though. In fact, if you fancy buying a few things from it, including our Gardener’s Pencils, you could also get – from us –
- The ultimate watering can (from Haws)
- The Japanese saw that has revolutionised pruning (from Niwaki)
And I’m putting one of Charlotte Mendelson’s books onto my Christmas list – because if she can make a Christmas Gift Guide amusing, I’m in.
