Regular price £59.95 Sale

We're really struggling to source the Hultafors axes we normally customise.  It turns out that there were three main forges in Sweden that made axe heads ... and one of them has closed placing the other under a bit of pressure to produce enough to supply demand.

Hence a lack of axes until the spring.

We'd always hoped to find a UK axe brand to stock, but had struggled.  I'm pleased to say that I think we've found a source that we can work with.  We won't be 100% sure until the New Year as they are flat out at the moment.  The axes are designed by them, forged overseas and then the final grind is done in Sheffield.  We'll tell you more once we have a proper supply.

We do have a single spare axe from them that we can offer for sale now.

I think it's spot on for a small hatchet and will take care of kindling duty really well.  If you are into carving it would be perfect for that as well.

650 grams and 31cm overall length .... balance in the hand is great.

Sheath is made by us to fit this axe using 3mm vegetable tan leather.  We use offcuts of premium leather that might get rejected by others.  That's down to things like branding marks and the odd scratch.  We think those marks just add character and we don't like waste.

Happy to add some paint to the handle as you can see from our other axes, but this one will sit unpainted just incase you'd like it plain.

We have three axes painted and ready to dispatch at the moment, all using Linseed Oil based paint.  These are Yellow, Olive and Maastricht Blue (this blue is an extremely dark Navy, almost black.)

We buy these axes in batches and sometimes the natural variation in the Hickory is just too nice to paint.  At the moment we have a really dark handled axe in stock, which can be seen in the last photo or by selecting "Dark Wood."  This is too interesting to paint, but available to purchase (and will include a leather sheath.)
