Right - so last summer I decided that a 49cc moped was the future for a leisurely summer evening ride around the local lanes. No need for a bike license or even a CBT if you passed your test before 2001 - just insurance and road tax.
The Norman Nippy really caught my eye. Just something about the frame integrated petrol tank and the general styling. I liked them so much that I ended up buying three of them before I'd even got one of them running....
This one has been partially restored by somebody already, but the other black one listed on here, although looking a little more 'rat rod' was rideable. That's when my Norman Nippy dream derailed a little.
I'm 6'3" and weigh 15 stone - turns out a 1960's 49cc moped struggles a little (well a lot) with me on board. Plus its a little cramped in the knee department. Perfect for somebody of a smaller build and hence why both Nippy's need to be moved on to a new home.
As I mentioned this one has been resprayed by a previous owner. Its a good job, not show quality by any stretch, but far better than I could have done.
I've had the engine running and the clutch is free.
Bits that will need work: exhaust needs a new gasket, wiring for lights and horn, engine cut off switch needs wiring up (new one provided) and the centre stand pivot is worn.
Good bits - looks great, engine runs and it has new tyres and saddle.
Huge plus is that it has its original log book and owner handbook. I've also gone through the process of having it registered and now have a V5 for it in my name. All you need is insurance and road tax given the recent changes in MOT regulations
Think it would make a great bike for a VW Camper fan to use at shows etc.
Collection preferred - but get in contact about possible delivery.
